Some users of mine, still keep on having troubles with a very strange error.
We use Hamachi as vpn to play.
9 from 10 users play as on regular lan (as it could be).
But someone has this problem:
- he can see the created session (hosted game) as OPEN
- he can't see inside the session any player.
- if he tries to connect to the session, the system hangs for some secs (inside the net, i think) to a CAN'T CONNECT TO DIRECTPLAY SESSION error message.
- same equal error viceversa (changing the hosting & clienting)!!!
Now, we tried:
- disabling DIRECTPLAY protocol from multiplayer options (with BANDWIDTH option also activated)
- turning off any system security (firewall & peerguardian and so on), so there's only windows and hamachi running
- pathing revolt to 1207 exe
Testing DirectPlay chat session from DXDIAG gives positive check!
Pinging the unlucky client give positive response (also very low, about 70ms).
Tring a netbios connection to shared folders gives positive check!
What's up?
Seems some tcp packets to some ports were totally dropped
Any suggest is welcome!?!?!?!?
Thanxxx
