in v150131 tracks ambient audio is at a lower volume then it should be, compared to v110208-v121102. (bug appears in v121225)
you are going to have to test for yourself.
this is a good location... (turn your music off)
the 'hum' is louder in v110208-v121102 and barely audible in v150131.

This one I have already fixed recently while working on the sound issues. The sound max distance had once be slightly lowered because the original code linked it to a volume constant that has been independently updated.
Anyway, this sound was virtually inaudible at this place in v110208 as well - except if you are actively trying to notice it - which is not the case when racing. In practice in a game, when a sound reaches such a level it doesn't makes sense to keep an audio channel busy just for it, and no racer will ever complaints he misses it...
The image below shows where the sound sources are (inside the green circle). The red circle is the limit where the sound remains audible in the build to come, it is already more than enough as you can see.
