With the latest v1.2 builds (from the collision bug thread), Win8 users can try -emulatefullscreen instead of -window command line. Basically it gives you a full screen "windowed mode" without borders.

Yes Windows 8.1 will be free for windows 8 users.

I haven't tried the preview yet, i prefer to wait until the final version.
I can only assume that with these improvements based on users criticism to win8, the migration to windows 8.1 will be quite high.
