After trying to get a fog box to do anything for about an hour the only thing i have seen that could be handy is that while your car is within an expanded fog box the sky map will not show and the sky is rendered black.
This could be handy when creating indoor to outdoor track because you could save on poly and ncp by not having to make ceilings lol. If anyone has got a fog box or garden fog to do anything could they let me know how please ohh and what is that flappage thing????

i remember the same thing happening, i inserted the fog box, saw thw black, had a little thinking and decided to leave it. it may need another object to be assigned to, i dont know. maybe the word "fog" suggests something that we expect, but its just a box that hides certain things.

Interesting find, I have played with it before, but not seeing anything, I expected it to do nothing and just removed it.

Fog box is used in Wild West 2 track.
Garden fog is probably used in Garden track. Just check
